Client Testimonial: ThriftBooks®

ThriftBooks® Partners with Bureau of Internet Accessibility to Support Readers with Disabilities

ThriftBooks® humbly began back in 2003 thanks to the vision of two entrepreneurs
whose goal was to save books of all genres from being destroyed and to make them
available to everyone at affordable prices. Since then, ThriftBooks has grown into a
global enterprise serving millions of customers to the delight of avid readers worldwide.

Challenge and solution

ThriftBooks® faced a lawsuit for being non-compliant with accessibility regulations. That’s when they quickly began looking for an external resource that could help them identify and fix the accessibility issues they faced. BoIA takes pride in its subject-matter expert staff, testers that include individuals with disabilities, cutting-edge artificial intelligence, and all the pieces that work together to help us serve our clients every day.

In their own words

" Throughout the process, the ‘service’ piece of it in terms of (ongoing) monitoring and service support for when we had challenges with some of our customers utilizing (the website) was great. " — Barbara Ann Hagen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, ThriftBooks
