Website WCAG Accessibility Audit

Having an accessibility audit performed on your website provides your organization with the information you need to remediate your site and comply with universally recognized guidelines. Ensuring an accessible digital presence increases customer satisfaction and limits your business risk.

Bureau of Internet Accessibility (BoIA) clients receive a breakdown of all checkpoints that don’t comply with WCAG 2.1 A/AA standards. By blending the automated computerized results with those identified by our manual testers, we provide our clients with a comprehensive view of any accessibility issues on their websites.

We Support Your Team at Every Step

We consider it a success when our clients become self-sufficient. Thus, throughout the audit process we make sure your team understands the logic behind our recommendations rather than just giving you a list of steps to blindly follow.

Our Web Developer’s Guide — delivered upon audit completion — is an in-depth resource organized by issue themes like Media or Structure. This detailed guide gives your development team best-practice remediation recommendations. These are established by our world-class subject matter experts who incorporate years of varied backgrounds and experiences.

Four-Point Testing Methodology

Our four-point testing starts with individuals who have at least one impairment and who use assistive technology. They examine pages and the functions of each website against the guidelines as defined by WCAG 2.1 A/AA.

During second-pass testing, a subject matter expert reviews each outcome and answers deferred questions, ensuring accuracy and adding needed input. These manual results are then married with the results of our automated testing output. This creates two comprehensive reports that are again reviewed for accuracy by a senior programmer.

The whole process ultimately gives our clients in-depth, real-world results. All reporting can be exported from our system and then imported into internal ticket tracking systems such as JIRA, Trello, Basecamp and Bugzilla.

Results and Ongoing Improvement

You’ll receive prioritized recommendations to bring your website into compliance, including specific code examples where applicable. We’ll also help you develop a road map that includes best practices and suggested next steps. Our involvement doesn’t end with delivering the results of our extensive testing process.

As you add new pages and information to your site, it’s possible that compliance will slip. Our team will work with you on an ongoing basis to provide periodic checks against key metrics.
