If a user error is detected, if possible, provide suggestions for corrections to the user, unless that would jeopardize the security or purpose of the content.

Official Requirements:

3.3.3 Error Suggestion: If an input error is automatically detected and suggestions for correction are known, then the suggestions are provided to the user, unless it would jeopardize the security or purpose of the content. (Level AA)

How to fix:

  • If there are a limited set of correct options, provide a list of the correct options.
  • If the server detects a misspelled value, a list of suggestions could be provided with a link or control  to accept the corrected spelling.
