Web pages should have titles that describe their topic or purpose. This enables users help find content and orient themselves without having to actually read the the page content.

Official Requirements:

2.4.2 Page Titled: Web pages have titles that describe topic or purpose. (Level A)

How to fix:

  • The page title is placed in the <title> element within the <head> of the document.
  • Replace any filler or placeholder text with a page title that identifies the subject of the page, makes sense out of context (for example, in a search result list), and is concise.
