Individuals with Low Vision are often not accommodated

Written by Admin | Jul 6, 2011

A common misconception that has plagued individuals with Low Vision, has been that their needs are lumped in with the needs of the blind and non-visual readers. What most people are not aware of, is that the needs throughout these groups are vastly different. Not only are the disabilities of a Low Vision person different than those of a blind person, there are large clusters of disabilities within what is commonly referred to Low Vision.

Anyone who is responsible for ensuring the accessibility of their website, should educate themselves on all disabilities and take measures to understand the levels and within each, as more often than not, not all sub-populations are being accommodated.
